Model 25: Ultra Definition Loudspeaker

"The Model 25 sounded very easy, clean and smooth. There was no apparent excess or dificiency in any part of the audio spectrum, and its soundstage was superb." (Stereo Review, january, 1993)

"...there was an impressive amount of deep bass for an acoustic suspension speaker of this size...in subsequent comparisons with speakers of similar size and price, no other speaker achieved the bass output of the NSMs."
(The Audiophile Voice, Vol 2, Issue 2, 1996)

"The tweeters horizontal directivety was excellent; the on-axis and 45-degree off-axis response diverged only 2 dB at 7,000 Hz, 3 dB at 10,000 Hz, and 10 dB at 20,000 Hz."
(Stereo Review, January, 1993)

"I had the speakers set-up in my room for several weeks and never experienced any listening fatigue."
(The Audiophile Voice, Vol2, Issue 2, 1996)

"Overall, the phase angle of the impedance varied smoothly between +30 and -45 degrees, with no evidence of sharp jogs, indicating resonances in drivers or the enclosure, that we have seen from many other speakers in this measurement. The acoustic phase linearity was also good, with group-delay variation of +/- 250 microseconds from just over 1,000 Hz up to 20,000 Hz."
(Stereo Review, January, 1993)

"...a first rate speaker."
(Stereo Review, January, 1993)

New improved cabinet makes the Model 25 even more accurate and attractive!

The Model 25 is essentially a larger version of our Model 10S loudspeaker. The superb performance of the Model 25 is due to a well executed design which combines a rigid cabinet, high quality wide band drivers, and a minimalist first-order crossover.
The Model 25 is such a well executed design that since its introduction in 1990 we have not been able to improve on the basic design. Instead we have focused on making numerous subtle refinements to enhance the performance of the loudspeaker. In the tradition of many classic two-way loudspeakers, its minimalist first-order crossover and relatively flat impedance curve mean it is inefficient but very easy to drive.
Accurate presentation of stereophonic music depends on preserving the symmetry that is encoded in recorded or transmitted sound. To preserve the symmetry encoded in music, every component and driver in each Model 25 is hand selected and hand matched with its equivalent in the other speaker of the pair.
The latest version of the Model 25 features improved crossover components and a more rigid cabinet. By using wooden pucks to tune the resonant frequency of the sidewalls higher, we have improved the accuracy and transparency of the Model 25.
As a result of the latest refinements, we have improved on the superb soundstaging, imaging, and excellent bass response of the Model 25. The "new" Model 25 enhances the reputation of the Model 25 for providing an overall level of performance that belies its cost.
We are so confident of the performance of the Model 25 that we invite any comparison with any other reference two-way loudspeaker.
To paraphrase one reviewer, "The Model 25 sounds very easy, clean and smooth. There is no apparent excess or deficiency in any part of the audio spectrum, and its soundstaging is superb."
(Stereo Review,1,1993)
