This is how the sub looks behind the wall between the studs or joists. Note the two adjustable metal brackets used to secure it to the studs or joists. Also note the five-way binding posts terminals on top which you connect to the subwoofer amp via speaker wires.

This is our full-featured A100, 100 watt subwoofer amplifier you need to drive the BWIC6.5 or you can use your own subwoofer amplifier.

Most people see the traditional box-shaped stand alone subwoofer as incongruent with their on-the-wall Plasma or LCD high definition TVs and in-wall music systems. The new BWIC65 powered subwoofer from NSM in a version of our highly regarded EXP subwoofer that fills the need for a subwoofer that does not sit out into the room. The BWIC6.5 subwoofer provides high quality bass and meets the needs of the do-it-your-seller and the custom installer with its behind the wall and in-ceiling functionality and easy installation. It delivers astounding, realistic, accurate, deep bass with the enclosure hidden behind the wall or in the ceiling and the output vent is virtually invisible to go along with the rest of your loudspeaker system.

For an affordable retail price of $595.95 for the BWIC6.5 subwoofer and our potent 100 watt RMS SA100 outboard subwoofer amplifier, and all the hardware needed for installation, you get incredible subwoofer performance without the subwoofer sitting out in your room. The BWIC6.5 is very easy to install. You need eight inches of clearance behind the wall or above the ceiling. You cut a 2.5 inch circular hole in the dry wall for the port tube, mount the subwoofer between the 2 by 4's or ceiling joists using the adjustable brackets and 4 screws. Connect the port through the wall to the subwoofer. Snap on the grill. Connect the speaker wire from the remote subwoofer amplifier to the BWIC65 five-way binding posts. That's it. Now you are ready to listen to the same high quality bass you get from the best stand alone active subwoofers. And the bass output volume and crossover setting are accessible from your chair or components rack.

The cabinet is made out of MDF. The dimensions are 11.75 wide by 7.75 deep by 14 inches high. It is intended to fit between studs behind the typical drywall (wall or ceiling) that are spaced 18 inches apart on center. Adjustable steel brackets are used to secure it to the studs. It features an adjustable port that goes through a 2.5 inch circular hole in the drywall or wall material (.5 to 4.5 inches thick) into the listening area. Inside the listening area, the port is covered by a 3.5 inch paintable perforated steel grill. The BWIC65 requires a separate subwoofer amplifer.
